I strolled a mile in the Crowsnest (Crow) river last night looking for bug life (midges) and rising trout. Conditions seemed perfect for the tiny dark bug which is smaller than a grain of rice that just had a tummy tuck: fairly calm, some clouds and Spring like (10C)…50F for those of you south of the border. There were only a few around and you need a fairly strong hatch to get fish focused on them. It is kind of like: One Smartie won’t catch your attention but a big clear bowl full of them will. Here are some pictures while walking in the Crow: no bugs, no fish (rising) but hey, a nice sound.
