  1. Great stuff and really admire your impressionistic ties. Here, each fly is different and no doubt has its own story – I am intrigued by the bottom one with its translucent body revealing an orange (attractor?) interior. It also looks like it includes snoshoe hair – an original look.

  2. C of B: Nice hearing from you and thanks for comments. The bottom tie is my take on a fly called the Usual. I grew up fishing the pattern in the east. It fishes well in the west in certain situations. It does incorporate snowshoe hair/ hare(lol). Once wet the thread color seems to bleed through the dubbing. You can change thread color to kind of match whatever pattern you are imitating. Once wet it floats but sits real low and I think that is what makes it effective…

    I believe you make an angling trip out west every yr… hope you had success or if still in the planning phase great success when you do go.
